I often wonder what type of communication skills people will need in the future and technology continues to creep into our lives and change the way people communicate with each other. How many of us resort to sending 140 character updates to our friends or simply post our latest thoughts on your Facebook wall.
Seems like everyday that goes by I feel the art of good old fashioned face to face communication is slipping away. Hey I am willing to admit that I rely to much on things like Twitter, Facebook and IM to stay in touch with family and friends but I wonder if the new Siri app on the latest iPhone 4s is just another step into tech wasteland of communication skills. Take this video clip of a married couple fighting with each other via the Siri app. Now I will grant you that this is obviously a very silly dramatization but I really think there is some truth to this clip and how people are leaning on tech gadgets to communicate with each other. Be warned a lot of the language in this Siri argument video is NSFW so don’t say I did not warn you, Enjoy!
So what say you webfolk? Do you think the advancement of technology is actually taking away from the way people communicate with each other? What about the youth of today who totally rely on short abbreviated text messages and codes to speak to their friends? Leave your opinions on what you think about the status of face to face communication skills in the comments section down below.
Kudos to you webfolk ![]()
